Periodic Exams
Once you're an established patient with us, we will conduct periodic exams twice every year. This helps us keep track of your oral health and allows us to identify new needs that you may develop.

At these visits, we will
-
Update your Medical History
-
Take new digital X-rays (only once per year)
-
Conduct new oral cancer screening
-
Perform new clinical evaluation
-
Take new periodontal assessment
-
Discuss modifications to Treatment plan
If you have had a full series of X-rays (FMX) taken at another office within the last year, we are happy to accept them. Just ask our front desk about the best way to have those records sent to us.
Oral Cancer Screenings
We perform oral cancer screenings twice per year during your routine periodic exam. This helps us evaluate any changes in your mouth and identify disease early. Early detection is valuable when dealing with any disease and most especially cancer. During the screening, we examine all the tissues in your mouth as well as your lips and lymph nodes to note any variation. However, it is important to know that many times changes to the tissues in your mouth are not an indication of cancer, and not all oral cancers are easily detectable in a screening.
