Our Services
Pediatric Dentistry
Although we are not an exclusive pediatric office and do not specialize in pedodontics, we offer basic dental care for children, including exams, fillings, and extractions for braces.
Exams & Cleanings
Once your children start getting teeth, it's a good idea to bring them in for a first check up. It helps get them used to a dental office, and it can help us identify problems with their bite early. X-rays are generally not taken as long as teeth are not touching. However, we may take some to see incoming permanent teeth.
Fillings
For small cavities in baby teeth or permanent teeth, we can do fillings on most children. We do have nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to ease anxiety in nervous children; however, we do not perform any further levels of sedation on anyone under 13 years old.
If your child requires more advanced restorations or if your child is particularly anxious, we may refer you to a licensed Pedodontist. We are more than happy to send over your child's patient records if your child needs to be treated at a pediatric office.
Even if your children have no dental problems, first dental visits are a great way to start getting them comfortable being in our office and sitting in a dental chair, particularly for anxious children.
Extractions
Although most baby teeth come out on their own, there are situations that require them to be pulled. Occasionally, an orthodontist may recommend extracting some teeth before braces can be put on. We can take out baby teeth or potentially any permanent teeth that your child needs to have removed.
If we suspect that your child's teeth may benefit from braces, we will refer you to an orthodontist.
