Small but Mighty

Who else is excited pumpkin pie season is here!? 🙋🏻‍♀️😁 But did you know there's another part of the pumpkin that's not just tasty, but good for you and your teeth as well?

That's right - pumpkin seeds aren't just high in fiber and good for your heart, they have benefits for your pearly whites, too. Pumpkin seeds contain antioxidants which help reduce overall inflammation (which includes reducing gum disease), and they contain phosphorus. That may not sound exciting, but, like calcium, phosphorus is one of the building blocks of your enamel - you can't have a bright smile without it!

If you'd like to try out their benefits, but aren't sure how best to eat them, try roasting them. Lightly coat 1-2 cups of seeds in 1 TBS butter and a pinch of salt, and bake in the oven at 300 degrees for about 45 minutes for best results!
